in this journal entry hugo complains about the shameless propaganda from wero which will replace ideal (the dutch local online payment system)
wero claims to be “truly european”, but at the same time you will need an app installed from google or apple
not really european and independent. it’s an american lock-in. i agree with hugo
but here is the thing hugo misses:
we already have a global, permissionless, open-source, peer-to-peer global payment network called bitcoin
we can cut the middleman, save on fees and transact truly independent globally
